GTA gang convoys go on trial
An investigation into the company commander, the platoon commander and senior police officers has been terminated.
The investigation sent a case of negligence against the convoy of the GTA gang members, who disarmed the accompanying guards and arranged a shootout in the courthouse. According to investigators, police officers "grossly violated the requirements of the regulations establishing the procedure for escorting," Interfax reports.
A former company commander of the guard and convoy of suspected and accused persons of the Moscow Region Ministry of Internal Affairs headquarters, deputy platoon commander and senior police of the convoy will go on trial. According to the indictment, they "allowed the transfer of five defendants from the courtroom to a convoy room under the protection of only two escorts."
On August 1, 2017, Khazrathon Dodokhonov, Kholik Subkhanov, Fazlitdin Khasanov, Mirzomavlon Mirzosharidov, and Abdumukim Mamadchonov attacked two escorts in the elevator, took away their side arms and arranged the shootout with employees of the Rosgvardiya. Three bandits were killed, one died later in the hospital. Only Dodokhonov survived, whom in August 2018 the Moscow City Court sentenced to life imprisonment for robbery and numerous murders.
Gadzhiev was detained on June 14. A criminal case was initiated against him about participation in a terrorist organization (part 2 of article 205.5 of the Criminal Code) and promotion of terrorism (part 4 of article 205.1 of the Criminal Code).
