Grudinin’s ex-wife appeals to police for protection because of partition of property
The spouse is afraid of the businessman husband, who allegedly does not agree to give away a part of the acquired wealth worth more than $ 78 million.
The former wife of Pavel Grudinina, the director of Sovkhoz im. Lenina, Irina asked the police to provide her with state protection. The reason is that fears her husband because of his disagreement with her demand regarding the partition of property worth more than 5 billion rubles ($ 78 million), Interfax reported, citing a source in law enforcement.
“The applicant believes that her ex-spouse is an influential person in business, has serious financial and administrative resources, and therefore fears for her life and health,” the MIA’s Main Directorate for the Moscow Region explained.
The Grudinins divorced in the summer of 2018 after 37 years of marriage. According to the ex-wife, the entrepreneur concealed a part of his property from her and tried to “reregister the mutual property in the names of some third parties.” The entrepreneur refuted the ex-spouse’s accusations and noted that the State Duma deputies are forbidden from having assets abroad, and the entrepreneur claimed the mandate released after the death of Zhores Alferov.
On March 21, the CEC refused to give Grudinin the mandate of the State Duma deputy due to foreign accounts at the time of his registration as a candidate for State Duma in 2016. The mandate will be given to the deputy of the legislative assembly of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Petr Medvedev.
The Prosecutor General's Office had earlier accused the Moscow region’s ex-official of exceeding official authority, taking a bribe on an especially large scale, and forgery, and demanded to seize assets worth of 9 billion rubles ($135 million) from him.
