Girl beaten by historian Sokolov 11 years ago gets involved in investigative actions

The girl arrived in Petersburg from another country to take part in investigative actions.

A former girlfriend of historian Oleg Sokolov, accused of the murder, was involved in investigative actions as part of a criminal investigation into the case, TASS reports.

According to an interlocutor of the agency, the girl arrived in St. Petersburg from another country where she lives.

According to the reports, the woman graduated from the St. Petersburg State University several years ago and was in close relationship with Sokolov for a long time. Earlier it was reported that in 2008, the historian beat this girl after he found out that she wanted to leave him.

Historian Oleg Sokolov was detained on November 9 on suspicion of a murder of his former student, 24-year-old Anastasia Yeshchenko. The court arrested him until January 8.
