FSB raids office of Miass Mayor
The FSB raided mayoralty of Miass earlier and in April of this year. The Administration of the fourth largest city in the Chelyabinsk region is not on spotlight for the first time.
The Administration of Miass was raided by employees of the FSB in Chelyabinsk region on June 20.
As reported Ura.ru with reference to the staff of the mayoralty, the entrance to the reception of Head of the city Gennady Vaskov is blocked by armed officers of the FSB in masks. In addition, operational activities take place throughout the city administration of Miass. The reasons for the searches are not yet reported, the phone of Mayor Gennady Vaskov is not responding. However, according to the edition, it is known that at present the investigative department of Miass is investigating a criminal case on the theft of municipal property.
Previous searches and seizure of documents in the building of the Miass Mayor's Office were carried out on April 18 and 20 this year by the FSB. During the operational activities, an unofficial adviser to the city Head, entrepreneur Vladimir Murashkin, who was known for his close ties with the Turbazovskie gang, and in particular with its leader Sergey Chashchin, convicted for contract killings, was detained.
It should be noted that on April 28, the deputies of the City Assembly found work of Mayor of Miass Gennady Vaskov unsatisfactory, and at the end of May, on the instructions of Governor of the region Boris Dubrovsky an unscheduled audit of budget funds, state purchases and other spheres of activity held by the Control and Accounting Chamber began in Miass.
Recall that the fourth largest city in the Chelyabinsk region is known for high-profile corruption scandals and connections of its leaders with criminals. In 2004, former Mayor of Miass Vladimir Grigoriadi became the first Russian Mayor convicted of bribery. Currently in Moscow, the trial of former city-manager Victor Ardabievsky, accused of organizing at least two contract killings, which were executed by the killers of the Turbazovskie OCG, is in progress.
