Head of Miass Gennady Vaskov was detained after searches in the city administration. In the near future, the official will be charged, a source in the power structures told URA.RU correspondent.
Today, about 11 o'clock local time, FSB officers came with searches to the Miass Mayor’s office. It is connected with the resignation of Head of the city administration. The press service of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Chelyabinsk region states that it will comment on the event later.
2 hours later, according to Newsmiass, Gennady Vaskov appeared in the administration. He greeted deputies. At this time, two people in camouflage and masks and a man in civilian clothes appeared. They went to the Mayor's office, and a few minutes later got out together with Vaskov. Handcuffed Miass Mayor was put in a minibus and taken away.
Former Mayor Gennady Vaskov left his post just a couple of days ago. The application for resignation was signed on May 11.
