Fourth person involved in case of Kokorin and Mamaev stays in custody
All the defendants will remain in custody until December 8.
The Moscow City Court has left football player Alexander Protasovitsky, who is the fourth person involved in the case of Alexander Kokorin and Pavel Mamaev, under arrest. All the defendants will be held in the Butyrka pre-trial detention facility until December 8.
“Affirm the decision of the Tverskoy Court, the petition of the defense is not to be met,” Judge Yulia Manerkina announced the verdict.
In court, the defendants spoke from the detention center via video conferencing. Alexander Kokorin, asking for a mitigation of the pre-trial restriction measure, wept. Pavel Mamaev once again stated that he allegedly has nothing to do with one of the incidents.
It is to be recalled that brothers Alexander and Kirill Kokorin, Pavel Mamaev and Alexander Protasovitsky are accused of attacking the Ministry of Industry and Trade official Denis Pak, the CEO of FSUE NAMI, Sergey Gaysin and a TV host driver, Vitaly Solovchuk. Criminal proceedings were instituted under the articles on hooliganism and assault and combined into one proceeding. The perpetrators face up to seven years in prison.
Businessman Mikhail Derbenev’s death year ago and "Tyumen-Sevastopol" partnership: where’s the link?
In early June last year, 40-year-old Director of the state-owned unitary enterprise Proekt Razvitiya Balaklavy ('Balaklava Development Project') Mikhail Derbenev was found dead in his Sevastopol apartment. He died under mysterious circumstances, and his death was preceded by a scandal about 380 million rubles ($5.9 mln) from budget of Yugra that disappeared in offshores in Cyprus and Seychelles through OOO Lloyd-Patterson, the founder of which he is still him. The CrimeRussia was figuring out what could have caused the businessman’s death, what is the connection between Tyumen, Yugra, Sevastopol and Karachay-Cherkessia, how the governor Ovsyannikov develops Balaklava (and does he?) and why the head of the Ministry of Construction Vladimir Yakushev and Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin have been spoted in this story.
