Former head of colony in which Dadin was tortured confesses to abuse of authority

The former head of the Karelian colony No. 7, Sergey Kossiev, pleaded guilty to exceeding his official powers and extorting money from prisoners, pens Medusa.
According to the publication, the official resigned in February this year. Prior to that, he headed a colony in Segezha, where activist Ildar Dudin was held and complained of torture.
In the journalists’ investigation, it was said that Kossiev became a person of interest in April. Before, the Investigative Committee and the FSB conducted inspections in the colony. Kossiev was suspected of abuse of power, as well as extortion of money from prisoners.
Extortions in the colony, according to sources of the publication, with Kossiev’s departure ran their course, but his subordinates, according to some reports, involved in a number of criminal episodes, continue to work in the correctional facility.
