Following Vice-Governor of Primorye, Head of Ussuriysk detained
According to unofficial information, officials are suspected of fraud in the construction of the Raduzhny microdistrict under the program called Housing for the Russian family.
Following the detention of the Vice-Governor of the Primorsky Territory, Evgeny Vishnyakov, it transpired that security forces also detained the Head of the administration of Ussuriysk, Yevgeny Korzh.
Not a single security agency has officially commented on the ongoing operational and investigative measures, despite the fact that the local press has been publishing information about the detentions of the high-ranking officials since this morning. There is evidence that the FSB officers are investigating the case.
As reported by Kommersant referring to sources in law enforcement agencies, officials are suspected of fraud in the implementation of the gasification program for the construction of the Raduzhny microdistrict in Ussuriysk under the program Housing for the Russian family.
The construction was marked by a scandal. At the end of 2016 with the onset of the heating season, residents of the neighborhood began to complain that, contrary to the promises of the authorities, gas supplies to homes from the main pipeline did not begin. The residents of Ussuriysk had to buy liquefied gas, which costs nine times more.
Note that Vice-Governor Vishnyakov on his post oversees the issues of tariff formation, state housing supervision, management of natural resources, environmental protection, civil defense and protection of the population from emergencies. The Deputy Head of the region was also responsible for the preparation of documents for the gasification of the Raduzhny microdistrict. According to sources of FederalPress, the official overestimated the cost of the contract at 53 million rubles.
The local press writes that in the administration of Primorsky Territory, searches and seizures of documents were conducted in the administration of Ussuriysk. Moreover, it was reported that the law enforcement officers also came to the Vladivostok office of the construction department of Gazprom OJSC.
It is to be recalled that this is not the first detention of high-ranking officials from the team of the Governor Miklushevsky. The CrimeRussia has repeatedly analyzed the situation with the security agency’s interest in the leaders of the Primorsky Territory. At the moment, more than 200 criminal cases have been filed against the people of the district head's entourage. Two vice-governors – Oleg Yezhov and Sergey Sidorenko – were arrested. The law enforcement agencies also pay close attention to the energy sector of the region: nearly 400 inspections have been carried out in Primteploenergo. In February this year, Miklushevsky’s entourage suffered a serious blow: the adviser to the governor, political strategist Ilya Spokoinov (Mitkin), was detained. He is accused of stealing more than 100 million rubles allocated for the purchase of equipment for children's playgrounds. Spokoinov does not admit his guilt and sees political motives in the criminal case.
The prosecutors want the former Russian Federation Council member to go to prison for 14 years instead of 9 and pay a 500-million-ruble ($8.8 million) fine instead of 70 million rubles ($1.2 million).
