Flew 800 meters: paramedic dies during parachute jump near Yekaterinburg

Doctors who came with the ambulance were unable to save his life. The man died at the scene.

Parachute-jumper has crashed in the Sverdlovsk region. Press secretary of the regional Chief Directorate of the police Valery Gorelykh told Komsomolskaya pravda that the tragedy had taken place in the morning in the settlement of Loginovo of the Beloyarsky District during the training jumps from a helicopter MI-8 at a height of around 800 meters.

As a result, 35-year-old paramedic from Yekaterinburg Mikhail died.

Doctors who came with the ambulance were unable to save his life. The man received injuries incompatible with life and died at the scene. That was his 45th jump that, unfortunately, turned out to be his last one. There’s a theory that it was caused by an unopened parachute, and the additional parachute got hooked on the man’s neck which did not allow air to fulfill it. However, experts are examining other theories, as well. MIA’s representatives are determining whether there was a pre-flight coaching. The Colonel Gorelykh says law enforcement authorities will come to a procedural judgement following the results of the inspection.

Representatives of Loginovo airdrom stated that they knew nothing about the incident and slammed the phone.
