"Fell down herself": Chelyabinsk official trying to cover up accident with pensioner she hit by car
The victim's relatives believe that the accident protocols could be forged by the spouse of the Administration employee, since he works in the police.
Lawyer of Kartaly District Administration of the Chelyabinsk Region Alexandra Terentyeva hit an elderly woman by her car. It was recorded on the video footage. However, the traffic police protocol says that the pensioner fell down herself. The victim's relatives claimed that the incident report has been forged, as Terentyeva’s spouse works in the traffic police.
The incident occurred on the morning of February 16 in the yard of a multistory building in the city Kartaly. The video materials show a black foreign car turning right. Despite a good overview and visibility, the driver does not notice a woman walking along the road and knocks her down.
Daughter of an injured pensioner Alyona Berkimbaeva told URA.RU that the official of the District Administration Alexandra Terentyeva was at the wheel of the foreign car. The driver called the ambulance, but persuaded the woman not to call the police and promised further help with the pensioner’s treatment. The victim was taken to hospital where she was diagnosed with multiple injuries. According to Alyona Berkimbaeva, in the past two years, her mother has gone through three surgeries on joints replacement and could only walk with a cane. After the accident, she tore her knee, which required a new surgery.
Meanwhile, after the incident, a traffic incident protocol was drawn, in which it was stated that the pensioner fell herself and the guilt for caused injuries rests solely with her.
"We found a recording of surveillance cameras. After that, we tried to draft a truthful protocol: this time, my mother was to blame for the fact she was on the roadway, although that was a yard area. We have tried to make a truthful report for two days. When it became clear that Terentyeva was married to the traffic police officer, I realized that it was useless. And submitted an application to the Investigative Committee", said Alyona Berkimbaeva.
Alexandra Terentyeva, who, at the time of the incident, was at the wheel of the foreign car, refuses to talk to the media, threatening with sanctions to anyone who publishes material about the incident.
The MIA Main Directorate in the Chelyabinsk Region has not yet commented on the situation.
