Federal Security Service detained unit manager of Ministry of Internal Affairs in Moscow
The law enforcement authority was convicted of official power abuse.
The staff of the Federal Security Service together with the staff of Department of Internal Security of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained the head of one of the divisions of General Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Moscow on Friday, October 20. The press service of the department reports about it.
“The staff of Department of Internal Security of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Moscow within holding operational actions obtained information about official power abuse by the head of one of the divisions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Moscow”, it is said in the statement.
As RBC specifies with reference to a source, the deputy head of the department of logistic support of a capital central board of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Dmitry Koshelev was the detainee. In particular, he when accepting works of the contractor has signed an act of acceptance though in fact the works were not fulfilled.
A criminal case is initiated against the employee of the department under Art. 285 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Official Power Abuse). As the interlocutor of the portal emphasized, Koshelev will be dismissed from law-enforcement bodies for negative motives.
Saburova believes that the Russian authorities violated articles 2 and 5 of the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, guaranteeing the right to life, as well as the right to freedom and personal inviolability.
