Federal Penitentiary Service to check Matrosskaya Tishina prison and its luxury cells
Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia initiated investigation after the rights activists' reports in media.
Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia came with a check to detention facilities in Matrosskaya Tishina prison. Decision on initiation of the investigation was made after the reports on VIP cells received by Public Monitoring Commission (PMC).
“The Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia carries out an official check of pre-trial detention center №1 of the Federal Penitentiary Service in Moscow (Matrosskaya Tishina). The results of the inspection will be announced later," representative of the Agency responded the request of Interfax.
Earlier, the deputy chief of the PMC of Moscow Eva Markacheva said in an interview with Moskovsky Komsomolets, that the lawyer, aka 'fixer' Dionisiy Zolotov (Denis Tumarkin), who is accused of theft, is being kept in a luxury cell. According to Eva Markacheva, Zolotov has access to modern facilities in his cell.
