Father of scandalous footballer Mamaev says he’s proud of his son
Konstantin Mamaev said that he was proud of his son despite that he was “really ashamed” when he learned what he had done.
The father of scandalous Krasnodar player Pavel Mamaev, Konstantin, told reporters that the arrest did not change his attitude towards his son. In addition, according to him, during his time in prison, the sportsman realized all his mistakes. Mamaev Sr. said this in an interview with NTV as part of Tsentralnoe Televidenie TV show.
“In his first letter, he wrote: I’d have never realized what was happening to me if I hadn’t got here. Just one day was enough to understand that something was wrong in his life. And he realized it on the first day,” Konstantin Mamaev told journalists.

To recall, the Tverskoy Court of Moscow extended the arrest to footballers Pavel Mamaev and Alexander Kokorin until February 8, 2019. Both athletes are accused of organizing debauches in the center of Moscow as a result of which two high-ranking officials of the Ministry of Industry and Trade were injured. Criminal cases under Battery and Hooliganism have been initiated against the players.
