Ex-Defense Minister Serdyukov and his subordinate Vasilyeva intensively learning English

The former Head of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Director of the Rostekh aviation cluster, Anatoly Serdyukov, and his former employee and, according to media reports, his wife, Yevgeniya Vasilyeva, began to learn English, informs Telegram channel Mash. Initially, the channel suggested that the couple was about to leave Russia, but later edited the message, indicating that the purpose of learning the foreign language is unknown.
Serdyukov and Vasilyeva found themselves in the center of a scandal about thefts at Oboronservis institution affiliated with the Ministry of Defense. Then, in 2012, Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the dismissal of the Minister, and a member of the Board of Directors of Oboronservis, Yevgeniya Vasilyeva, was under investigation.
She was found guilty of property fraud in the military department. Vasilyeva received five years in prison, however, 3.5 months after being taken into custody in the courtroom, she got parole. The court took into account her longtime house arrest.
At the end of 2013, Serdyukov became a defendant in a criminal case under the article Negligence, but it was dropped in February 2014 — Serdyukov was recognized as “defender of the fatherland” and was granted amnesty on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Russian Constitution.
