Woman affected by postnatal depression tried to behead priest with sword “for the name of God!”
The woman used to visit sermons of the priest. But things went wrong when she decided that he “incorrectly interprets the Word of God.”
The accountant working for a colony in the Sibirean city of Novosibirsk, Russia, has attacked the priest with a sword. She allegedly committed this being affected by a postnatal depression or even psychosis, MK reports with reference to colleagues of the 26-year-old woman.
According to them, the woman was in a bad condition because of a postnatal stress and due to that she started visiting the local temple nearly every day, where she listened to sermons of the parson. However, this did not calm her down. On the contrary, the accountant considered that the priest incorrectly interprets the “Word of God”. She tried to enter the debate with him, but other parishioners prevented her from doing this.
After several unsuccessful attempts the woman decided to track down the parson. On November 15, the priest came to a colony where she worked, the woman grabbed a sword and followed him. Bursting into the chief's office following the priest, the woman tried to behead him shouting “For the name of God!”
The chief of the colony, Major Alexey Stupakov, managed to push away the father and to intercept the woman's hand. Then she was detained and taken to the police. A criminal case initiated under the article Attempted Murder.
