According to the investigation, the criminal investigator and his live-in partner caused a scene in a cafe. The institution administration called a police squad, which was then attacked by the rowdies.
In Astrakhan, an employee of the Dagestan MIA Internal Security Department and his live-in partner have been detained on suspicion of attack on police officers, the press service of the regional ICR reports.
According to the investigation, the senior criminal investigator of the Dagestan MIA Internal Security Department was on vacation in Astrakhan. In the evening of May 20, he and his girlfriend went to a cafe, where the suspect made a scene, during which the administration of the institution called the police.
On the street, the Dagestani hit the commander of the Police Patrol and Checkpoint Service regiment in the head several times, then threw him to the ground and began to choke him. His live-in partner kicked another police officer in the groin.
An additional squad was summoned to the scene, which then detained the suspects. Criminal cases of the Use of Violence Against a Representative of the Power have been initiated (part 2 of Art. 318 of the Russian Criminal Code).
General’s son Mikhail Sal’nikov, Professor of the Department of Theory of Government and Law at the St. Petersburg University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of the Russian Federation, has been detained for real estate fraud. Amid other corruption crimes hitting the headlines, this offense does not seem a high-profile one. But the point is that this is not the first criminal case instituted against professor Sal’nikov, and he is not the only relative of MIA general Viktor Sal’nikov having problems with the law.
