The motorist was arrested for two months; previously he had violated traffic rules more than 50 times.

The Kuibyshevsky District Court of St. Petersburg arrested 30-year-old Murad Kasymov, who knocked down five people on Nevsky Prospect until April 23. According to preliminary data, the driver from Azerbaijan breathed up laughing gas — N2O — before the accident. Also, even before the crash, the defendant was deprived of his driver's license. Vesti TV channel reports.

As it turned out, Kasymov violated traffic rules more than 50 times, and in November 2018 was deprived of his driving license. Neighbors described him as a calm, non-drunken man.

A 38-year-old Muscovite and a 40-year-old US citizen died on the spot. Kasymov faces up to nine years in prison.
