Defense of Telman Ismailov's nephew considers accusation of abduction of singer Russo absurd
The lawyer of Zaur Mardanov commented on the situation.
The nephew of former owner of the Cherkizovsky market Telman Ismailov, Zaur Mardanov, does not accept the accusations over the abduction of singer Avraam Russo in 2004. TASS quotes his lawyer Alexey Smirnov.
According to him, there was a conflict between his client and Russo, during which the victim admitted that he had received only a few light blows, Mardanov did not take part in the kidnapping.
"As follows from the testimony of the singer, it was Ismailov's guards who were engaged in the abduction," Smirnov specified, calling the singer’s accusations absurd and insolvent since Russo admitted that he had sat in the car by himself.
"He spent the night in the country house of the businessman, where Telman arrived in the morning, gave him money and apologized," he said. “No agreement was signed, and after the incident, Russo never performed at the Praga restaurant.”
Recall that the former director general of the Praga restaurant and the shareholder of the AST holding, who owned the Cherkizovsky market, Zaur Mardanov, was detained on charges of beating and abducting Abraham Russo in 2004. The artist wrote the statement the other day. After the searches, Mardanov was taken to the police station.
The Basmanny Court will consider the petition of the investigation on the election of a preventive measure in the form of arrest on Tuesday.
