Defendant cuts his throat in court’s WC during hearing break
The man is accused of theft and extortion of drugs.
The defendant cut his throat in a WC of Solntsevo district court in Moscow, Moskva news agency reports with reference to a source.
As the interlocutor of the agency told, the incident occurred during a break at a hearing at which the question of arrest extension to the defendant was considered. The man said that he needed to visit a toilet. After field investigators accompanied the defendant to the bathroom and left him there, he tried to cut his throat. As a result, the victim was hospitalized.
The source added that the man is accused under part 3 of Article 229 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Embezzlement or Extortion of drugs).
