Dead baby found in snowdrift in south of Russia

In a forest belt, two kilometers from the city of Aksay, Rostov region, passers-by found a corpse of a newborn boy in a snowdrift. Experts have determined that the baby was healthy. The identity of the mother is being established.

“The body of a newborn baby, male, with no visible injuries wrapped in cloth and the plastic bag was found,” the regional ICR reported.

The body was found on December 8, two days later, investigators initiated a criminal case on the Murder of a newborn child by the mother (Article 106 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The mother faces up to five years in prison.
