Dagestani MMA champion tells about hearing on case of murder of his father by police
According to the athlete, the defendant’s lawyer slandered the victim.
Two-time MMA champion from Dagestan Magomed Yunisilau suspected the court of bias and accused one of three ex-police officers accused of killing the athlete’s father in inappropriate behavior at the bail hearing. In addition, Yunisilau said that the defendant’s lawyer had slandered the deceased. The given message was posted on the athlete’s Instagram page.
“The judge was determined. She ran over all the hearing participants. She said that she would not tolerate any shouts, exclamations, and the like.... Behaved like savage. The defendant’s lawyer slandered my father and said that he had a knife in his hands. There was no knife in the father’s hands, he had a phone which he used to try to call the relatives,” Yunisilau said.
On April 11, in Orekhovo-Zuyevo, the Moscow Region, three policemen beat Sulli Yunisilau, 46, to death. The law enforcement officers were dismissed from the bodies, and criminal proceedings were instituted against them about inflicting intentional grievous bodily harm (paragraph 3 of Article 111 CCRF) and exceeding official powers (paragraph 3 of Article 286 CCRF). Pavel Popov was arrested, Dmitry Blinov and Oleg Shishkanov were placed under house arrest. On May 14, the court left Blinov under house arrest, the bail against the rest should be decided on May 16.
