Dagestan: Unknown gunman shots people at Maslenitsa celebration

An unknown gunman opened fire in Dagestan’s Kizlyar at Maslenitsa celebration. This is reported by information agencies citing sources.
Interfax reports that five people have died as a result of the incident. RIA Novosti clarifies that four more have been injured, and the attacker has been eliminated.
According to preliminary information, the injured persons include three National Guard officers. A source also reports that the attacker had come to the celebration with his wife, but then she ran away, and he was the only shooter. Allegedly, the shooter’s victims were women.
A petition against the shooting of stray animals in anticipation of the 2018 FIFA World Cup has been signed by more than 1.5 million people. Famous Russian actors made a stand for the animals. Protest rallies were held in some cities. The FIFA is getting letters from animal advocates.
