Dagestan policemen were detained under suspicion of extortion
At the moment, investigative activities are held at the place of work and at the place of residence of the detained officers.
On September 5, two high-ranking employees of the Dagestan police were detained: the Head of Administration of Criminal Investigation of the Office of Ministry of Internal Affairs in Khasavyurt Rasoul Saduyev and the Deputy Chief of Administration of Criminal Investigation of the MIA in Dagestan Gimbat Lakhiyalov. The investigation suspected law enforcement authorities of extortion. Besides, chiefs of the Dagestan Ministry of Internal Affairs presumably acted together with the former Head of the Kizilyurotvsky Administration of Internal Affairs Askhabali Zairbekov, who is accused of creation of an organized criminal grouping.
According to TASS, other police officers, except Saduyev and Lakhiyalov, were also detained within the case of extortion, however their exact quantity is still unknown.

On October 9, the Ukrainian Prosecutor General has provided names of the people charged with the murder of fugitive ex-Deputy of the State Duma Denis Voronenkov.
