Criminal proceedings opened following attack on Otradny MIA Office Chief and murder of his wife
The woman died as a result of fatal injuries. The police officer has been taken to hospital in grave condition.
Criminal proceedings have been opened in the case over attack on Chief of Otradny MIA Office in the Samara region Dmitry Vashurkin and his wife Ekaterina.
As reported by the press service of the Investigative Committee, the case has been initiated under part 2 of Art.105, part 3 of Art. 30, and part 2 of Art. 105 of the Russian Criminal Code.
Let us recall that the tragedy took place on the night of December 11 in Smyshlyaevka village of the Volga district, the Samara region.
According to preliminary investigation, upon returning to their house on December 11, Chief of Otradny MIA Office Dmitry Vashurkin and his wife Ekaterina found four masked men, who started brutally beating them right away. The police officer regained consciousness in the morning, informing his colleagues about the incident. His wife died. Dmitry Vashurkin is currently in intensive care. His condition is serious.
Operative workers continue working at the scene. The case investigation is subject to special scrutiny by the regional ICR Department. Russian Minister of Internal Affairs Vladimir Kolokoltsev has seconded officers of the Main Administration of Criminal Search to the Samara region to assist in the investigation.
