Court prolonged arrest to St.Petersburg metro terror attack instigators
The defenders of the 11 defendants did not appeal the prolongation of the arrest.
The Moscow City Court recognized the prolongation of arrest to 11 persons involved in the case of the terrorist attack in the St. Petersburg subway for three months as legal on Monday, October 16, RIA Novosti reported.
In particular, Dilmurad Mouidinov, Sodik Ortikov, Abror and Akram Asimovs, Seifull Hakimov, Ibrahibjon Ermatov, Shokhista Karimova, Azamjon Mahmudov, Bahram Ergashev, Muhammadyusup Ermatov and Mahamadyusuf Mirzalimov remain in custody.
The defense insisted on mitigation of the measure of restraint.
Recall that the explosion in the St. Petersburg metro occurred on April 3, 2017. A suicide bomber detonated in one of the cars on the haul between the Sennaya Ploshad and Technologichesky Institut. 16 people, including the suicide bomber, were killed. About 80 more people were injured.
The investigation believes that one of the organizers of the terrorist act is Akram Asimov, who received money for these purposes in Turkey. In addition, as reported by the investigation, he was engaged in falsifying documents so that terrorists could enter Russia.
