Colony received documents for Ildar Dadin's release
The correctional colony, where Ildar Dadin was serving his term, has finally received the decision on his release.
According to media, the document was delivered by special communications command vehicle; the colony administration has confirmed it had received the paper.
According to colony warden, the procedure of handling documents relating to Dadin's release from prison is relatively quick, and should not exceed a couple of hours. It is assumed that Ildar Dadin will be at large at 10:00 - 11:00, Moscow time.
As previously reported by the CrimeRussia, Ildar Dadin had not been released from prison immediately after the Supreme Court's decision to abolish the sentence previously imposed on him due to bureaucratic delays, as the order on its abolition had not been immediately delivered to the colony.
Let us recall that February 22, the Presidium of the Supreme Court ordered the release of activist Ildar Dadin. He had been previously convicted of repeated violation of the rules of picketing. The sentence was imposed by the Basmanny Court of Moscow on December 7, 2015. The activist was found guilty under Art. 212.1 of the Russian Criminal Code (Repeated violation of established procedure for conducting meetings) and sentenced to 3 years' imprisonment. Later, his defense managed to reduce the term of 2.5 years during an appeal.
Saburova believes that the Russian authorities violated articles 2 and 5 of the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, guaranteeing the right to life, as well as the right to freedom and personal inviolability.
