Colonel who participated in flash point offensives shoot himself in head while bragging about his gun
In violation of the relevant rules, the award weapon was not stored in a safe.
Colonel from Kerch Andrey Andrusha, who had recently moved to New Moscow, accidentally shot himself with an award pistol when he decided to scratch his head. The 43-year-old man received the pistol for military merits in the Crimea in 2014, but forgot to check the position of the fuse, and paid for it, Moskovsky Komsomolets writes.
“I was checking the clip, did not think that it was charged. And then, you won’t believe, my temple itched,” Andrusha said.
That evening, the colonel showed off the gun to a roommate. After the shot, the frightened woman called an ambulance, and the military was taken to the 7th City Clinical Hospital. Soon, the colonel was discharged – the bullet went tangentially and got stuck in the wall.
Law enforcement authorities launched a probe into the incident and found that the colonel had violated the rules for storing firearms: there was no safe in his apartment. Now the award gun can be confiscated.
