Chelyabinsk region: deputy gets sentenced for beating schoolboy
The 16-year-old teenager is in hospital.
In the Rymniki rural settlement of the Bredinsky district, the Chelyabinsk region, the court sentenced a local deputy and teacher Rifat Yumakaev, to one and a half years imprisonment for beating up his 16-year-old student. This is reported by the press service of the Russian Investigative Committee.
The investigation believes that the incident took place in June 2018. The 26-year-old teacher and the teenager had an argument. The verbal conflict escalated into a fight. The deputy made at least four punches in the face of his minor opponent near the building of the house of culture. Doctors have established that the student suffered serious bodily harm. A criminal case under part 1 of Art. 111 of the Russian Criminal Code has been initiated against the MP.
Apart from restriction of liberty, the deputy has to pay a fine of 50 thousand rubles ($774) and has been deprived of the right to educate and raise children for a period of 1.5 years.
Russia’s deposit insurance agency asked the court to involve an offshore company Clement Glory in a case against a fugitive banker and an ex-owner of Vneshprombank Georgy Bedzhamov. Clement Glory turned out to hold Bedzhamov’s real estate in Great Britain in pawn, reports RBC.
