Chechnya: deputy of Republican Parliament shot dead
Unknown peppered his car.
Mukhmad Askhabov, the deputy of the Republican Parliament, was killed in Chechnya.
A source in the security services told Interfax that today, on August 25, an attack was carried out on the car of a parliamentarian. Unknown literally peppered his car. Askhabov died from the received wounds on the spot.
According to Investigative Committee, the deputy's car was riddled in the morning (about 8 am) in the Achkhoy-Martan district when he went to work. As a result of received wounds, Askhabov lost control and his car capsized into a ditch.
We should note that the law enforcement agencies do not comment on the circumstances of the incident.
The investigators opened a criminal case under item (b), part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code (Murder) and part 1 of Article 222 of the Criminal Code (Illegal Arms Trafficking).
Mukhmad Askhabov was a member of the Communist Party; he became a deputy in September 2016. Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party Gennady Zyuganov has already expressed his condolences in connection with the death of Askhabov.
"He went from a party statistician, from the accountant to the Minister of Property and Land Relations to the First Secretary of the Chechen Republican Committee of the Communist Party. And after working in such a complex, delicate, responsible sphere, people entrusted him with the mandate of a deputy of the Parliament of the Chechen Republic; so he showed himself as a wise and honest leader, having gained public respect," Zyuganov expressed his condolences.
Earlier, Askhabov worked in the Parliament's apparatus, was an adviser to Head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov and the Head of his secretariat, the Minister of Property and Land Relations of the Republic.
The cadets have been found guilty of an Attempt at Murder by a Group of Persons by Previous Concert and for Mercenary Reasons (part 3 of Art. 30, part 2 of Art. 105 of the Russian Criminal Code). They do not plead guilty.
