Case of Kokorin and Mamaev forwarded to prosecutor for approval
The trial will be held in Moscow’s Presnensky District Court.
The hooliganism case against football players Alexander Kokorin and Pavel Mamaev was sent to the prosecutor's office for approval. If the case materials contain no errors, they will be transferred to Moscow’s Presnensky District Court for consideration on the merits, TASS reports.
Within 14 days upon receiving the case materials, the court will set a date of the preliminary hearing, at which it may immediately extend the custody terms of the accused for six months. It is to be recalled that the football players are accused of attacking the Trade Ministry employee Denis Pak and a driver of the Pervy Kanal’s TV host.
The Prosecutor General's Office had earlier accused the Moscow region’s ex-official of exceeding official authority, taking a bribe on an especially large scale, and forgery, and demanded to seize assets worth of 9 billion rubles ($135 million) from him.
