Case initiated against head of Buryatia settlement following fire
In the village of Cheryomushki, the fire destroyed 17 houses and several administrative buildings.
A criminal case under part 1.1 of Art. 293 of the Russian Criminal Code (Neglect of Duty) has been initiated against Head of the Gremyachinskoe municipality Oksana Trishkina. This is reported by the press service of the republic's Investigative Committee.
According to the agency's message, local governments ignored fire safety rules, according to which it is necessary to create protective fire bands and collect dry vegetation on the territory of settlements bordering forest parks.
As a result, when there was a fire of dry grass on the outskirts of the Cheryomushki village on April 28, the fire quickly spread to nearby houses, and then into the village. 17 houses and several administrative buildings were destroyed. According to preliminary estimates, the damage from the disaster exceeded 7.5 million rubles.
It had been previously reported that on Saturday, April 29, a group of employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations led by Minister Vladimir Puchkov arrived in Ulan-Ude. On a Mi-8 helicopter, the group conducted air monitoring of the situation with natural fires in Buryatia. Emergency situation is upheld on the territory of the entire Siberian Federal District.
