The sons of the former head of the village of Balakhani, Untsukulsky district of Dagestan, Magomedrasul Yakubov, had troubles with the law. They were suspected of illegal arms trafficking and ties with militants.

According to sources in law enforcement, the head of the village, along with his sons, extorted large sums from local businessmen, handing them flash drives with video messages from militant leaders and collecting tribute on their behalf – the militants have recruited the Balakhani residents for a long time.

As the Dagestani media reported, the Yakubov brothers were detained together with head of the Tsatanih village administration Nurmagomed Saipullayev, deputy head of the Mokokh village administration Rasul Kazachiev on suspicion of ties to the bandit underground, but were soon released. No charges were brought against them.

According to unconfirmed information, the law enforcement agencies suspect three people of the murder of Rosgvardiya officer at the nightclub in Makhachkala.

The main suspect is world champion in hand-to-hand fighting Shahban Mochiev, he was wounded by the deceased officer in a shootout and was hospitalized in the hospital, and the police are searching for Magomed and Haskil Yakubovs. According to some reports, they fled the scene at Lexus car.

The investigating authorities initiated a criminal case under part 1 of Art. 105 of the Criminal Code (Murder) and part 1 of Art. 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Illegal Arms Trafficking), operational measures are being taken to establish the whereabouts of the suspects and detain them.
