Police allows Brazilian gangster to watch football match before arresting him

The hijacker faces up to 50 years in prison.

Rodrigo Denardi Vicentini has been on the international wanted list. The Brazilian was arrested by Interpol immediately after the match of the group stage between the national teams of Brazil and Costa Rica in St. Petersburg, the Fontanka newspaper.

So, Vicentini, 31, was handcuffed yesterday, June 22, at the St. Petersburg arena. It is noteworthy that law enforcement officers, after the detection of the criminal, allowed him to watch the game. It is known that the man was put on the international wanted list in 2017.

The thug entered Russia flying off from London with the use of a false passport. The Brazilian claimed to be an Italian citizen.

Interpol believes that the suspect was the member of a gang led by 31-year-old Jacqueline da Luz. The band raided the post offices, stealing several thousand American dollars sometimes.

At the moment, Rodrigo Denardi Vicentini is imprisoned for several months in a St. Petersburg pre-trial detention center; he is waiting for extradition to Brazil. The man is suspected of more than ten crimes and faces up to 50 years in prison.
