Boy, 4, thrown out of window by mother remains critical
The four-year-old’s condition is critical but stable after his mother threw him out of the window along with his sister and herself.
The four-year-old boy who survived a fall from the ninth floor in Moscow is in a critical but stable condition, said Anna Kuznetsova, the Commissioner for Children's Rights in Russia.
According to the commissioner, initially it was reported that the boy was six years old, but that turned out to be untrue. The Ministry of Health specified that the child was actually four.
He was thrown out of the window by his mother, who then did the same to his little sister, just 9 months old. The woman and the girl died, while the boy was badly injured. According to Kuznetsova, the tragedy could have been caused by the lack of support from the woman’s relatives and public organizations.
The CrimeRussia reported earlier that Lyudmila Sokolova, 36, had apparently suffered from postpartum depression. She left a suicide note in which she asked not to blame anyone, especially her husband. In addition, many hand-written poems about life after death were found in the apartment.
Before jumping out, Sokolova called an ambulance four times. She complained that she could not feed her little daughter. When the paramedics arrived, the woman had already jumped out of the window with the children.
