Boxer Povetkin’s foundation fined for illegal business
The premises given to the sports and leisure center were leased to merchants.
Boxer Alexander Povetkin’s Foundation for Assistance and Development of Sports was fined 1 million rubles ($ 15,000) for illegal lease of premises received from a state enterprise for a sports and leisure center. A shopping space was set up in the building, the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office reports.
Earlier, the Moscow Property SUE transferred the land plot in the Krylatsky District and the building located on it to the foundation. The Prosecutor's Office established that the premises were leased to retail and wholesale outlets trading spare parts and accessories, as well as for repair works, i.e. were used for other purposes (part 1 of Article 8.8 of the Code of Administrative Violations).
The Foundation was established by the Honored Master of Sports Povetkin in 2015 to “form a healthy nation.” In the 2000s, the boxer repeatedly won the championships of different levels, including an international one – in 2003.
Former Head of the Losino-Petrovsky district of the Moscow region, Oleg Fetyukov, did not enjoy his power in the local administration for a long time. Just a year after his appointment, the long-term deputy of Andrey Vikharev voluntarily resigned. The courageous step did not save Fetyukov from arrest. Immediately after this, a number of media outlets stated that Fetyukov was “set up”– the charges seem too small to his defenders. The enemies attributed to Fetyukov did not achieve too much either. So whom does the ex-head of Losino-Petrovsky “replace” under investigation and how long will the investigators be content with the replacement?
