Beslan hero falls into coma after getting beaten up over road conflict in Ufa
The offenders have not yet been found; the victim is partially paralyzed.
Ufa police opened a criminal case of battery with a man who took part in the liberation operation in Beslan, Alexander Vorontsov, as victim. Vorontsov came to his senses on August 26 after a two-week coma. Part of the man’s skull was removed; the left side of the body is paralyzed, according to Komsomolskaya Pravda. The criminals have not yet been found.
It happened in July, when Vorontsov made a comment about a motorcyclist’s riding at high speed along a street where children were playing. After that, the motorcyclist gathered a group of friends, came to Vorontsov’s and attacked him with a metal pipe.
The ex-commando was taken to the hospital in critical condition and underwent a head operation that lasted for hours. Vorontsov woke up yesterday but could not get to his feet. Interrogation is contraindicated, so investigators have not yet worded an indictment.
The victim’s mother turned to charitable foundations and local residents for help to get Vorontsov back to normal.
Two adults and three children became infected with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) during treatment in a hospital in the Stavropol city of Budyonnovsk in 2018, Interfax reports with reference to the regional Ministry of Health.
