Arrest of FSB officers accused of treason was prolonged
Mikhailov and Dokuchayev will remain under guards till May 2017.
The court extended arrest to the staff of the FSB Center of Information Security (CIS) Sergey Mikhailov and Dmitry Dokuchaev till May, 2017. Under guards will also remain - Internet entrepreneur Georgy Fomchenkov and head of department of investigation of computer incidents of Kaspersky Lab Ruslan Stoyanov, Kommersant reports.
According to the newspaper, lawyer of the last is lieutenant colonel Alexander Gusak who in the past headed the 7th department of management of development of the criminal organizations of FSB.
Earlier, in January term of detention for Ruslan Stoyanov and other defendants in the case was prolonged for four months. However, as Gusak declares, he is optimistic. According to the lieutenant colonel, protection will manage to achieve removal of all accusations from Ruslan Stoyanov.
“He is a patriot, the serious specialist in the field of fight against cybercrime, conducted big scientific work in this sphere. In our opinion, in his actions there was no that structure which could be qualified as high treason”, Gusak told the newspaper.
Earlier, the CrimeRussia wrote that defendants in the case about treason are Colonel of FSB Sergey Mikhailov, major Dmitry Dokuchaev and former head of department of investigations of computer incidents of Kaspersky Lab Ruslan Stoyanov. On February 1 charges in high treason for benefit of the USA were brought to them. According to the investigators, they cooperated with CIA.
Lieutenant General Oleg Troshin announced he is going to retire in May 2018. He is doing it following a decision taken a year ago – not due to non-existent issues with the agency reported by some local media outlets.
