Another suicide at school where girl wrote letter to Putin before killing herself
This time, it was a 17-year-old schoolboy.
There has been a second suicide this month in the school of the town of Safonovo, Smolensk region.
According to local media, a 17-year-old committed suicide yesterday. Eyewitnesses say that the pupil made the decision after a fight with his classmates and a 4th-grade student, when he was summoned to the principal’s office. According to others, the deceased had had a disagreement with a teacher.
The Investigative Committee said it had begun the probe, without specifying details.
The CrimeRussia wrote earlier that a student of the eighth grade at the same school committed suicide on November 19. The girl could no longer stand the bullying by her classmates about her bad eyesight, reports say. In addition, there was information that the eighth-grader had had disagreements with her teachers. There was also tension at home; she and her sister were in the care of a single mother and were in dire need of money; the deceased even wrote a letter to President Putin asking for help.
The ICR opened a case for the violation of two articles: on negligence and incitement to suicide.
Recent weeks have seen the school collecting signatures for the director’s dismissal over the death of the 14-year-old.
