American spy who escaped Russia leaves bedbound mother
On September 9, CNN reported that 2 years ago, the US evacuated an extremely informed agent from Moscow following a meeting between the President Donald Trump and head of Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov.
Former employee of the Department of Presidential Affairs Oleg Smolenkov considered an American spy within the media had left his bedbound mother in Moscow, reports Moskovsky komsomolets.
According to the newspaper, Valentina Nikolaevna (Smolenkov’s mother) had earlier worked with the Health Department of Moscow’s Northern Administrative District. There’s nothing known about a father of the alleged American spy.
MK reports that there’s a certain woman who speaks with an Ukrainian accent in an apartment where Smolenkov’s mother lives. In her words, she’s Valentina’s nurse and has been in the apartment for 2 days only. Her colleague Elena asked her to watch over the woman. When asked where the previous nurse was, she said the previous nurse had set off for Ukraine urgently. She also doesn’t know what’s going on with the old woman. “She is shut-in and light headed. Sometimes she cries for help,” the nurse said.
Neighbors noted that around 3 years ago, Smolenkov visited his mother 3 or 4 times a week, came with large bags and then went missing. They say Oleg’s mother-in-law hired the nurse. Social workers sometimes visit the shut-in woman.
On September 9, CNN reported that 2 years ago, the US evacuated an extremely informed agent from Moscow following a meeting between the President Donald Trump and head of Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov. Acording to the TV-channel, the CIA was allegedly afraid of the possibility the American leader could have accidentally disclosed the spy. Later, it was assumed that Smolenkov had been the spy. In 2017, he and his family set off for Montenegro on vacation and went missing under strange circumstances. Besides that, reporters found out that in 2018, a person with the same last name bought a house in Virginia.
He was reported to have worked with the Department of Presidential Affairs, but the Department denied this information. Press Secretary for the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov confirmed that Smolenkov did worked at Kremlin, but was fired a few years ago.
