During a search at the house of Rosbalt correspondent Alexander Shvarev, who is a witness in the case of libel against businessman Alisher Usmanov, the security forces officers seized five icons, all bank cards, a child’s phone and other gadgets, Shvarev’s lawyer Vladimir Zherebenkov told TASS.
“The operatives seized all the gadgets, including the child’s phone, which is generally prohibited by the law. All bank cards were confiscated, my client has no means to provide for his family. We will complain about the officers’ actions,” Zherebenkov said.
Earlier, Rosbalt’s lawyer Dmitry Firsov clarified that the investigative actions were carried out within the framework of a criminal libel case initiated by Usmanov’s application in December 2018. During the search, computers containing documents about kingpin Shakro Molodoy were seized from the editorial staff of the news agency.
