93-y.o. veteran from whom collectors took apartment as repayment of his grandson’s debt dies
He left behind an elderly widow, who is also a veteran of World War II and lived in the same apartment.
93-year-old veteran Anatoly Doronin, from whom unknown people took an apartment in Moscow’s Golyanovo district, died while awaiting assistance in returning the living space. The two-room apartment in which Doronin lived with his family for 50 years was taken away for his grandson’s debts. According to Doronin, they were scammers who broke into the house and threatened the veteran, forcing him to sign papers.
In early November, Mash reported on a pensioner who walked around Moscow with a hand-drawn poster and asked for help in returning his housing. The Investigative Committee took interest in the pensioner’s story. Head of the ICR ordered the case to be taken under special control, but the pensioner never saw any progress in the war on debt collectors. It is reported that he left behind an elderly widow, who is also a veteran of World War II and lived in the same apartment.
