40+ criminal cases to be initiated following murder of mother of many children in Krasnodar region
The Prosecutor's Office quashed the decision to refuse to initiate proceedings.
The Prosecutor's Office of Mostovsky district of Krasnodar region has canceled more than 40 decisions on refusal to initiate criminal cases, the Office’s press service reports. The reason for the cancellation was the incompleteness of the verification activities and the violation of the Criminal Procedural Code.
Such measures were taken after a mother of many children was murdered in the village of Psebay on the night of May 13 to 14. Two suspects have been detained as part of this case. One of them, a 16-year-old teenager, has pleaded guilty.
In the wake of the murder, local residents organized a rally demanding to protect them from criminals. After that, checks began in the village’s law enforcement bodies, as a result of which Head of the MIA Main Directorate in the Krasnodar region Vladimir Vinevsky was disciplined. In October, when he turns 60, Vinevsky may leave his post. Several high-ranking police officers have been fired. ICR Head Aleksandr Bastrykin has taken personal control of the investigation.
