20 thsd people boo Sobyanin at rally “For admission to elections” in Moscow
According to Bely Schetchik, more than 20 thousand people gathered on Sakharov Avenue in Moscow yesterday. The MIA’s estimate is 12 thousand.
On July 20, there was a rally “For admission to elections” on Sakharov Avenue in Moscow. Protest participants supported independent candidates who were not registered as candidates for deputies to the City Duma.
According to Bely Schetchik, more than 20 thousand people attended the rally. The MIA's estimate is much lower, but still impressive – 12 thousand people. To recall, this rally had been coordinated with Moscow authorities.
It was organized by the Libertarian Party.
The rally ended with a loud whistle. For this symbolic booing of Mayor of Moscow, Sergey Sobyanin, the organizers distributed 2000 whistles to the participants; the remaining 18,000 participants showed their skills in artistic whistling.
The day before, opposition candidates Lyubov Sobol, Ivan Zhdanov, Dmitry Gudkov, Ilya Yashin, Yulia Galyamina, Konstantin Yankauskas, and some others were not allowed to participate in the elections.
