2 Russian men accused of killing Chinese nationals for money
The men left a village in Primorye by car on September 9 and disappeared.
Two residents of Primorye have been charged with the murder of two Chinese citizens who were engaged in buying wild plants.
According to the press service of the regional IC of the Russian Federation, law enforcement authorities received a statement about the disappearance of two men born in 1971 and 1963 on September 19, 2019. On September 9, the men drove away from the village of Zametnoye, Chuguevsky District, with a large amount of money and disappeared. Investigators opened a murder case.
“It was established that two residents born in 1959 and 1968 were involved in the murder of the men. The suspects have been detained and the court ruled to place them in custody on November 11, 2019 at the request of the prosecutor. Currently, both defendants have been charged, the investigators said in a statement.
The defendants decided to kill the two Chinese citizens who were engaged in buying wild plants in September 2019. According to the ICR, the defendants lured the victims to a deserted place under a pretext, shot them and stole a large sum of money and a car, then burned the bodies of the foreigners.
The defendants gave testimonies and showed the murder spot and the place of burning of the bodies. The investigation is ongoing; a number of forensic examinations have been scheduled and witnesses are being questioned.
