Brother of Nikita Belykh resigned from General Prosecutor's Office
It is unclear, whether his decision is connected to the criminal case of Nikita Belykh, who is accused of taking bribes in a large scale.
Aleksandr Belykh, brother of the arrested governor of the Kirov Region, has voluntarily resigned from the post of Head of the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation for the Volga Federal District. On June 29, the official representative of the General Prosecutor’s Office Alexander Kurennoy announced this. The Prosecutor’s Office has granted Aleksadr’s application on June 28.
It is unclear, whether his decision is connected to the criminal case of Nikita Belykh, who is accused of taking bribes in a large scale (Part 6 of Art. 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
To remind: governor of the Kirov Region Nikita Belykh was detained at a Moscow restaurant while taking a third tranche of the multi-million dollar bribe. A criminal case against him was opened, and he was detained by the decision of the court.
Lieutenant General Oleg Troshin announced he is going to retire in May 2018. He is doing it following a decision taken a year ago – not due to non-existent issues with the agency reported by some local media outlets.
