Zelensky's headquarters: negotiations with Russia are priority
The headquarters of Vladimir Zelensky talk about the intention to get relationship with Russia back on track, but they have not yet named specific names. Earlier, the actor spoke about a possible meeting with Vladimir Putin.
Ruslan Stefanchuk, who is responsible for the formation of state institutions and ideology at Zelensky’s headquarters, told RBC that staff of the candidate’s team intend to gather and share areas of responsibility for different directions. “I think that the negotiations with Russia will be a priority for us,” he said.
"We need to find a way out of the situation, we have to end the war shortly," said Stefanchuk in a conversation with RBC. At the same time, he did not reveal the specific names of those who will be responsible for negotiations with Russia.
In early April, Zelensky said that he was ready for talks with President Vladimir Putin for the sake of ending the conflict in the Donbass. According to him, it is necessary to change the Minsk format and involve Moscow in negotiations. At the same time, the candidate stressed that he would not make territorial concessions and would insist on the integrity of Ukraine.
Zelensky also spoke about his plan to end the war in the Donbass at several stages. The first stage should be a cease-fire, as well as the resumption of social payments to residents of the region.
Also, Zelensky’s headquarters stressed that they did not intend to exchange Crimea for peace in the Donbass. At the same time, the candidate stated that the return of the peninsula to Ukraine is possible only in case of a change of power in Russia.
