Zelensky discouraged from face to face meeting with Putin
It is necessary to invite “powerful countries” to negotiations, otherwise, guarantees cannot be achieved.
The elected President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, may not meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in a one-on-one format. It is better to invite “powerful countries” to negotiations; otherwise, guarantees cannot be achieved.
This opinion was expressed by a former employee of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, a member of the Zelensky team, Ivan Aparshin on the air of the ZIK channel.
“I do not advise the President of Ukraine to meet with Putin one-on-ones. I do not believe that Putin will guarantee something; I do not believe him. I will believe only when powerful countries take part in negotiations,” said a military expert.
According to him, the powerful countries are the United States and the UK.
Aparshin also believes that Zelensky has to ignore negotiations with the leaders of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics.
According to Aparshin, Ukrainian officials involved in the outbreak of the conflict in the Donbass will be punished after Vladimir Zelensky will take office as President. Those who allowed the capitulation of Crimea would also be punished. According to the expert, the new Ukrainian government will put in place these measures in the field of national security and defense.
