Zakharova denies information about her $10k coat
A Yandex.Zen author has noticed an item from the Saint Laurent collection on the diplomat.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Maria Zakharova has refuted reports that she wears a coat worth about 700 thousand rubles ($10 thousand). The diplomat added that she considered it unacceptable to spend big money on clothes and bags.
On her Facebook page, Zakharova wrote that buying things at this cost seemed insane to her. The diplomat also clarified the situation with the brand of her outerwear in the picture, which led the public to the idea of such spending. She pointed out that this coat was made by a domestic brand, which she bought at an exhibition two years ago.
General’s son Mikhail Sal’nikov, Professor of the Department of Theory of Government and Law at the St. Petersburg University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of the Russian Federation, has been detained for real estate fraud. Amid other corruption crimes hitting the headlines, this offense does not seem a high-profile one. But the point is that this is not the first criminal case instituted against professor Sal’nikov, and he is not the only relative of MIA general Viktor Sal’nikov having problems with the law.
