Volodin instructs Saratov MPs to control co-investors problem
During a visit to the Saratov region, Speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin instructed deputies of the State Duma, representing the region, to take the problem of housing co-investors under personal control, the press service of the Saratov Region Government said today.
"During a business trip to Saratov, Vyacheslav Volodin, together with Acting Governor Valery Radaev, held a meeting on resolving the problems of defrauded co-investors... According to Volodin, for each of the private housing building a specific focused solution must be worked out. He called on the State Duma deputies from the Saratov region to take the responsibility for each house and bring them to the commissioning stage," the report said.
According to the State Duma website, the region is represented by 13 deputies.
As noted in Saratov’s regional government, there are 25 real estate items, in the registry of problem houses: 20 of them are in Saratov, two in Engels, and three are located in Balakovo. Three thousand families were left without apartments and money. To complete the construction of all the buildings almost 2.75 billion rubles ($45.8 million) are necessary.
The meeting with State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin, Acting Governor Valery Radaev, as well as the heads of Saratov, Engels and Balakovo districts was held in Saratov on Friday. The Chairman of the State Duma was informed about the state of affairs in the region. Following the meeting, Volodin said that the solution to the problem of private housing co-investors should be approached in a comprehensive way, i.e. for each house, a thorough analysis to be conducted in order to gradually progress with the project.
"The activities of insurance companies must also be audited so that they do not lose money intended for the co-investors. And, of course, developers also need more scrutiny in order to exclude from the unfair ones from the construction market... Be sure to work with people to work out solutions and schedule their execution. I am ready to help with this work," said Vyacheslav Volodin as quoted by the press service.Head of the region, Valery Radaev, noted that work on the mentioned co-investors would be systematized, for each house there would be a decision, and with this approach, the issue of problem houses would move forward. During the discussion, it was decided to hold quarterly meetings with the participation of the head of the region and all responsible persons on the issues of co-investors.
The special services believe that Russian Interior Ministry officials could have cooperated with the press to sell passport applications and border-crossing data of the two men suspected of poisoning the Skripals in Salisbury.
