Prosecutor's office is interested in rewards to MIA personnel in the amount of 10 mln rubles given by Kaliningrad governor
The prosecutor's office of the Kaliningrad region issued a warning to the Governor of the region for the unjustified allocation of funds from the regional budget. In 2015, before the governor’s election campaign, the regional government provided funds to law enforcement officials, in particular to parole officers, in the total amount of 9.9 million rubles.
As the newspaper reports, these types of fundings are prohibited by the existing legislation, as the financial support of the police should be done from the federal budget, but not regional.
The fact of receiving rewards by the policemen has been confirmed by the department for supervision over the implementation of anti-corruption legislation. According to the source of the newspaper, if there will be no reaction from the regional authorities within one month, the prosecutor’s office is obliged to apply to the court to return the money to the budget.
Since the warning was sent on June 21st, the governor still has time up to 20th of July.
Meanwhile, the prosecutor's office of Kaliningrad commented on the situation, saying that according to existing information, the money has been spent for its intended purposes, and the regional government has promised not to violate the established order in the future.
The investigation and court established that Arhur Dzhioyev (Synok), extradited from Greece, not only conveyed orders for killings to killers, but also participated in them himself. Only a part of the incriminated episodes was included in the case considered.
